Online MBA vs Online MCA: which is better for your career?
MUJ, SMU, and Amity's real eligibility rules for both degrees, and how to decide based on where you want your career to go.
Both are open to any bachelor's degree at MUJ, SMU, and Amity — none of the three requires a specific undergraduate discipline for either program. The real decision isn't about eligibility; it's about which direction you want your career to go.
Online MBA: broader, management-track
MUJ and SMU require a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) for their MBA; Amity's bar is lower, at 40%, with an internal test available below that. No work experience or entrance exam is required at any of the three.
Online MCA: technical, with a real catch for non-CS backgrounds
If you haven't studied Mathematics or computing fundamentals at 10+2 or graduation, all three universities require a compulsory bridge course in your first semester — not a rejection, just extra groundwork before the core MCA content starts.
Unnati Vidya tip: if you're deciding between the two, think about role, not difficulty — MBA skews toward management and cross-functional roles, MCA toward hands-on technical and engineering roles.
